To be eligible for a homestead exemption you must:

• Own and reside in the property
• Not be claiming an exemption on another property
• Have a driver’s license with an address that matches your property

Several different types of exemptions are available, including a general residence homestead exemption and exemptions for people over the age of 65, people with disabilities, veterans with disabilities, and some surviving spouses.
