Deadline to File for Exemptions

April 30, 2024 is the deadline to file for a homestead exemption or file an application for allocation of value.

Applications for the homestead exemption, freeport good exemption, mixed-used vehicle exemption, pollution control exemption, and lessor’s application for personal use automobile exemption can be found on our website.

Applications may also be mailed to the address below or delivered to the drop box at our office location:

Mail or contract delivery such as UPS or FedEx must be postmarked or bear a receipt mark on or before the deadline date. Hand deliveries to Travis CAD must be physically received in our office before the close of business (4:45 p.m.) on the deadline. If April 15 or April 30 falls on a weekend or legal holiday, the deadlines are extended to the next regular business day.

TCAD cannot confirm receipt of renditions, extension requests, or exemption forms, etc. If you require confirmation, please choose a submission method that will provide a delivery confirmation.
